our Team
We are an interdisciplinary team combining expertise from science and business.
The Founders

Dr. Guido Schroer
PhD in polymer chemistry
Guido combines his PhD in polymer chemistry with practical experience from working as a consultant at BCG.
“A strong team, fun, and the determination to prove that a ‘made in Germany’ technology can succeed in the chemical industry, even in challenging times.”

Yannik Kohlhaas
PhD in chemical engineering in submission
PhD Candidate in Chemical Engineering as well as an MBA being an expert for scaleup and financial matters.
“I’m driven by the challenge of building a company from scratch, tackling challenges as a team and developing solutions for real-world applications. I also enjoy the opportunity to learn something new every day.”

Lynn Dröscher
PhD in chemical engineering in submission
Lynn has a proven track record in chemical process engineering, guiding technologies from laboratory development through simulation and optimization to large-scale manufacturing.
“I’m excited to apply my expertise in polymerization process modeling to help transform innovative research into sustainable industrial solutions.”

Dr. Tobias Riedl
PhD in polymer chemistry
Tobi holds a PhD in polymer chemistry, is an expert in synthesis, bringing deep technical expertise to our team.
“I’m passionate about turning scientific research into real-world impact. Driven by curiosity and hands-on innovation, I enjoy staying close to the lab, where innovation begins.”

Dr. Harald Rubner
PhD in business administration
Harald has over 30 years of experience at BCG. As an active member of our founding team, he supports all strategic, business & finance topics.

Our Journey
From research to sustainable impact.

Power2Polymers is stemming from the BMFTR-funded Kopernikus projects going back to 2016, where our POM-polymers were developed as a more sustainable alternative to conventional polypropylene glycol (PPG) from RWTH Aachen university and industry partners.
Since 2024 we are continuing the development focusing on specialty applications including, but not limited to industrial adhesives, coatings, lubricants and thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs).
The innovative platform technology is protected by a broad patent portfolio and we secured public funding for the continued development including an EXIST Forschungstransfer grant.

Our approach was further acknowledged at several occasions including 1st place at the chemstars FLTM-challenge, Hightech.NRW batch #5 and the impact as well as ISC3 challenge award 2025. We were also internationally recognized with a 3rd place at the Rice Business Plan competition 2024 in Houston Texas.
Our headquarters are at the QuinCAT incubator at RWTH Aachen University.
